Harper Lee on advice

Shoot all the bluejays you want, if you can hit ‘em, but remember it’s a sin to kill a mockingbird.

Mockingbirds don’t do one thing but make music for us to enjoy. They don’t eat up people’s gardens, don’t nest in corncribs, they don’t do one thing but sing their hearts out for us.

I think there’s just one kind of folks. Folks.

Accept good advice gracefully—as long as it doesn’t interfere with what you intended to do in the first place.

I always pass on good advice. It is the only thing to do with it. It is never of any use to oneself.
